Project Details
The three-story, 330,000-square-foot Baptist Health South Florida Homestead Hospital and integrated, 50,000-square-foot medical office building provide a full range of state-of-the-art medical services. The hospital features 120 private patient rooms and is the first phase of a projected three-phase, 300-bed master plan which includes additional medical office buildings as well as dedicated parcels for complementary supporting freestanding services. The design inspiration for the new Homestead Hospital is derived from the Mediterranean style that has come to symbolize Baptist Health South Florida service excellence. GATEStone, a coquina architectural precast finish, was integral to achieving this signature style. The hospital’s exterior is made of eight-inch-thick architectural precast concrete panels. It is the first hospital in Miami-Dade County built to withstand a Category 5 hurricane.
